Chief Executive Officer
Sergei Krylov, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, joined Approach in January 2014. Previously, from 2000 to 2013, Mr. Krylov worked at J.P. Morgan Securities LLC in the Energy Investment Banking group, where he most recently served as a Managing Director. His background includes finance, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions.
Mr. Krylov holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, summa cum laude, from Pace University
Vice President, General Counsel, & Corporate Secretary
Josh Dazey joined Approach as Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary in January 2016. Prior to joining Approach, Mr. Dazey served as Associate General Counsel, Securities & Finance and Assistant Secretary at Eagle Rock Energy Partners, L.P., an upstream E&P MLP. Over the course of his employment at Eagle Rock, Mr. Dazey worked on a wide range of SEC reporting, equity and debt offerings, exchanges and buybacks, upstream and midstream acquisitions and dispositions, corporate governance matters and other legal functions, culminating in Eagle Rock’s merger with Vanguard Natural Resources, LLC in 2015. Before joining Eagle Rock, Mr. Dazey worked as an attorney in the corporate department of Baker Botts LLP, serving a wide range of clients including upstream E&P companies.
Mr. Dazey graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center earning a J.D. degree in 2006, and graduated summa cum laude from Central Washington University earning a B.S. and a B.A. degree in 2001. Mr. Dazey is an active member of the Texas state bar.
Troy A. Hoefer
Senior Vice President – Engineering
Troy A. Hoefer joined Approach as Vice President – Reservoir Engineering in June 2013. Mr. Hoefer has more than 25 years of operating and management experience in the oil and gas industry. For the 16 years prior to joining Approach, Mr. Hoefer held increasingly responsible reservoir and operating engineering positions at Pioneer Natural Resources. Most recently, Mr. Hoefer served as Reservoir Engineering Manager, overseeing Pioneer's South Texas Asset Team. This reservoir engineering group was responsible for development and executing drilling campaigns including a large-scale exploration, appraisal and development project in the Eagle Ford shale.
Before joining Pioneer, Mr. Hoefer held a variety of engineering and business development roles at Mesa Inc., which merged with Parker and Parsley in 1997 to form Pioneer Natural Resources. Mr. Hoefer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of the Mines. Troy is also a 25-year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Chief Accounting Officer
Ian Shaw, Chief Accounting Officer, joined Approach in October 2014. Prior to joining Approach, Mr. Shaw was with Ernst & Young LLP since 2006. His most recent position was Senior Manager in the audit and assurance practice, serving a wide range of clients including upstream E&P companies. Mr. Shaw has experience with a wide range of transactions and accounting issues including: Initial Public Offerings, acquisitions and divestitures, debt modifications, derivatives, income taxes and share-based compensation.
Mr. Shaw graduated from Texas Christian University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and in 2006 with a Master of Accounting degree. Mr. Shaw also holds a CPA license in the state of Texas.
J. Curtis Henderson
Chief Administrative Officer
J. Curtis Henderson joined us in February 2007 as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. In December 2013, Mr. Henderson was named Chief Administrative Officer. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Henderson served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Coterie Capital Partners, Ltd., a private equity partnership in Dallas, Texas. From 1996 to 2005, Mr. Henderson served as General Counsel of Nucentrix Broadband Networks, Inc., a public broadband wireless telecommunications company that was sold to Nextel Communications in 2004.
Mr. Henderson began his career as a lawyer in the corporate and securities section of Locke Lord. He has over 23 years of experience in public and private securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and regulatory affairs.
Mr. Henderson holds a B.A. in Political Science from Austin College and a J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he served as Articles Editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review.
